INTERVIEW WITH our Maths teacher, Mrs Joanna Palmowska

If you weren’ t a maths teacher, which job would you like to do?
When I was a little girl I loved to make imagined school lessons – I was a teacher and my friends were my students. When I was a bit older, I helped my friends with homework, I always loved teaching others 😊 Oh, yes, and I also wanted to be a prisoners’ psychologist and give hope to people who need it.
Which school subjects were your most and least favourite ones in a primary school?
Well, I didn’ t have any favourite subject. I particularly liked studying the ones that the best teachers taught. I was lucky to have lots of good and inspiring teachers.
How did you spend your free time, when you were a child?
I didn’ t have any free time then. I practised handball every day. After trainings I was just learning hard, because I liked it.
What are your passions? They are quite common – listening to music, reading books, cycling and swimming. Do you remember any funny situation from your live?
I usually try to turn negative emotions into a funny situation. I like laughing at myself. Being able to laugh at yourself is crucial to have a happy life.
Once, I told one of our teachers that her daughter had bitten her classmate and the headmistress wants to that teacher. She was shocked, because her daughter is very polite and kind. I couldn’ t stand seeing her that frightened, so I told her it was just a joke 😉
Now, when we see each other, we always laugh. Isn’ t that better than being sad and irritated?
