Our cohort of IB Mathematicians achieved the best to date, with two Level 5s, three Level 6s and a Level 7. At IGCSE, our students came close to repeating the incredible haul of last year, this time with one E, three C’s, six B’s, ten A’s and six A*’s in Mathematics. I would like to congratulate each student from the lowest to the highest scorer - I know how hard they all worked to ensure they exceeded expectations once again. International Day: Friday October 18 International Day is one of the most fun and enjoyable days of the school year. This year we are celebrating International Day on Friday October 18. For maths week, from Monday to Wednesday, our students will face early morning challenges during tutor time and also see demonstrations and footage of Mathematics in the real world. Parents are very, very welcome and have a strong tradition of helping out by running an activity during the day or by organizing a food stall that represents their country. If you would like to be involved this year please contact the school office for more details. The week, as always, peaks on Thursday afternoon when the hotly contested Annual Mathematical Games commence… Maths and Spelling Challenges merge into Basketball, Giant Jeronimo Jenga a nd Football as we build to an exciting climax! Last year, the adrenalin-pumped afternoon saw Chang conquer all and Samui nail down the runner-up spot. Who will be the champions this year? All students are to come to school dressed in clothing that represents their country (traditional dress if possible). Students also take part in a special day of activities rather than their normal school lessons. The highlights of the day are the Parade of Nations in the morning, the lunch time international school picnic and the international performances in the afternoon.
