Year 10 Work Experience
Finally they were invited to speak. Their speeches
were heartfelt and full of emotion. They spoke of
their love for their friends and family, their
gratitude to their teachers and parents and their
thanks for their time together. Their obvious
affection for each other was touching and when
they had finished they embraced each other,
overwhelmed by the emotional rollercoaster of
the last few months. They left as they had arrived;
arm in arm, chatting happily.
Our annual Year 10 Work Experience
Progamme runs from June 9th to 13th. This is
the fourth year that our students have had
the opportunity to get a feel for a
professional working environment for a
week. On behalf of St Andrews International
School, and our Year 10 students in
particular, I would like to say a huge thank
you to all the organisations that have
agreed to provide our students with
placements. Without their support this
important opportunity would not be possible.
This year our students will experience a
range of careers including advertising,
customer service, engineering, fashion
design, manufacturing, photography, sales,
and space research. Thanks also to the
many parents who I know play an important
role in finding suitable work places. It is with
a mixture of excitement, anticipation and a
little nervousness that our Year 10 students
are looking forward to their experience in a
working environment.
Goodbye and good luck Y13, you are a fantastic
group of students and we wish you all the best
with your futures. Adventure is waiting! Ms Harris
