St. Andrews International School, Green Valley June 5th, 2014 Spotlight on Primary Primary Newsletter Year One Clean Up The Beach! Gloves, Bags and ACTION at Had Nam Rin Beach. Students from Year 1 had initially thought of ways to make a difference to the amount of trash in our oceans. This was done in response to finding out that Sea Turtles die because they mistakenly eat plastic bags, thinking that they are Jellyfish! After visiting the Sea Turtle Sanctuary, we brainstormed things that we could start doing to make a difference. Please After visiting the Sea take a look at our list below and help out too! Please take a Recycle trash as much as we can by using the recycle bins and separating trash before putting it out at the look at our list below gate. and help out too! Always put your rubbish in the bin. Reduce your waste by buying products without packaging. Many students committed themselves to help organise the ‘Beach Clean Up’. They made posters, wrote emails and encouraged and organized others to join in on the day. We cordoned off an area of about 100 metres and look what we found! (pictures above).
