Rin Beach. Students
from Year 1 had initially
thought of ways to make
a difference to the
amount of trash in our
oceans. This was done
in response to finding
out that Sea Turtles die
because they mistakenly
eat plastic bags, thinking
that they are Jellyfish!
After visiting the Sea Turtle Sanctuary, we brainstormed things that we could start doing to make a difference. Please

Reduce your waste by buying products without packaging.
Many students committed themselves to help organise the ‘Beach Clean Up’. They made posters, wrote emails and
encouraged and organized others to join in on the day. We cordoned off an area of about 100 metres and look what
we found! (pictures above). Thank you to all parents, staff and students who made our ‘Beach Clean Up’ a huge
success.
