Primary Focus Year 1 Field Trip to Utapao Airport – ‘Journeys’ Year 1 spent time organizing what they needed to pack for their field trip to the Utapao Airport and Navy Beach on Tuesday and when they arrived at school, they were clearly excited and prepared to make the most of the learning opportunities along the way. The children were able to see aid supplies being loaded onto planes going to the Philippines and also got to see the inside of a plane engine. It was exciting to hear the jet planes taking off, making an ear piercing noise. At the beach the students created their own activities, sharing toys and equipment that they brought along. Shell collecting, constructing drainage systems in the sand, making sandcastles, fishing and drawing were among the many fun and stimulating learning opportunities taking place. A wonderful day was enjoyed by all!
