Chevron ’ s latest Delo TorqForce offering
Chevron Lubricants last year introduced its Delo TorqForce Syn FD-1 high performance , fully synthetic lubricant designed for use in final drives and axles of large mining haul trucks and other support equipment . Delo TorqForce Syn FD- 1 was designed to increase performance over conventional SAE 60 TO-4 and FD-1 products and formulated to deliver maximum system protection .
This includes an expanded temperature range for year-round , all-weather performance with excellent cold weather pumpability in subzero / Arctic operations ; and excellent extreme high temperature and severe service performance . Chevron also says it maximises equipment life in severe service thanks to an advanced additive system which minimises wear in heavily loaded gears and bearings . It keeps metal parts free of varnish and sludge and offers improved protection against wear , rust and corrosion .
Finally the company says it holds up longer for extended service intervals having outstanding oxidation resistance at high temperatures for longer oil life ; and excellent filterability under the ISOCLEAN ® Certified Lubricants program plus stability during storage periods .

Shell and Wärtsilä extend strategic partnership for engine lubricants
From March 22 , 2023 Shell will act as the designated strategic partner for Wärtsilä regarding lubricant solutions for all engines . Following the Testing Oil Partnership agreement signed by the two companies in 2020 – which saw Shell become Wärtsilä ’ s exclusive test oil partner for engines during the Research and Development and factory testing process – the new MLA will now see Shell provide lubricants for several first fills and Wärtsilä Lifecycle Solutions for stationary power applications . Shell has a long history of developing high quality lubricants , in line with world-leading OEM engine requirements , and is a longstanding supplier of engine oils to Wärtsilä .

Many of Shell ’ s lubricant solutions for large engines are tested in a Wärtsilä engine at the
Shell Technology Centre in Hamburg and rigorously tested in Wärtsilä installations in the field . In addition to those used during the engine test procedures , Shell also supplies other products that are part of the factory production

process , including hydraulic and gear oils . Shell ’ s Mysella , Argina and Gadinia ranges of engine oils , for example , have been developed to provide top class engine cleanliness , enhanced wear protection , long oil life and high system efficiency .
The partnership will enable Wärtsilä and Shell to continue to strengthen their engine oil offerings , enabling a wider global supply footprint and product portfolio , dedicated team resources and the co-development of lubrication technologies .

In December 2022 , wholly-owned subsidiaries of Shell in Switzerland , the UK , US and Sweden completed the acquisition of the Environmentally Considerate Lubricants ( ECLs ) business of the PANOLIN Group . Shell will manufacture , distribute and market the PANOLIN portfolio of ECL products alongside its established Shell Naturelle branded products . The acquisition will strengthen Shell ’ s presence in the mining , construction , agriculture , renewable power , hydropower and offshore wind sectors .
Shell expects to fully integrate the business into its global lubricants business within two years , aligning with Shell ’ s Powering Progress
