Beware Bogus Council Callers
Nottinghamshire Trading Standards are
once again warning people to beware of
bogus telephone calls purporting to be
from the County Council that target people
across the county.
Officers are re-issuing the warning as
complaints to the service have been
received again this week. Some complaints
were initially made earlier in the year.
Reports have been made by a number
of Nottinghamshire residents stating that
they have been cold called by someone
claiming to be from the County Council.
The caller asked the residents if they
had been involved any recent accidents
or if they had PPI. When the residents
challenged the legitimacy of the call, the
person hung up.
Nottinghamshire County Council advice is
not to answer any questions and to end the
call immediately. We also recommend you
ignore cold-callers.
