McLanahan Corporation is using MINExpo 2021 to focus on its complete range of solutions for the mining industry and to grow awareness of its end-to-end solutions across multiple segments .
The booth will feature displays of its crushing , screening , scrubbing , tailings management , sampling and feeding lines as well as specially engineered crushing segments and metallurgies . McLanahan experts will be on-hand to talk to customers regarding machine monitoring , a feature that gives customers the ability to better understand their wear usage and predictive maintenance planning to improve the life and productivity of their operation .

McLanahan will also be introducing its recently launched Mineral Sizer at MINExpo . The latest heavy-duty design from McLanahan can accept product sized lumps up to 1,200 mm and features an adjustable breaker bar to further reduce the product size and handle sticky clays from ore feeds . Ease of maintenance was key to the new design , with the sizer featuring a rollout option from the field stream and a hydraulically lowered breaker bar , allowing for unrestricted access for safe and efficient maintenance . With a focus on minimal downtime , the Mineral Sizer has several key replaceable components that can be easily and safely accessed for maintenance and replacement to limit downtime .
Since the last MINExpo , McLanahan has introduced a line of Elevated Tank Thickeners that have been sold and installed in the gold and nickel sectors . This thickener line joins McLanahan ’ s filter presses , hydrocyclones , Hydrosizers™ and slurry pumps in its effort to recover fines while reducing the industry ’ s need for tailings dams .
The new Jameson Concentrator from Glencore
Technology will be another MINExpo 2021 talking point .
This new concentrator is deemed a game changer in the industry , requiring less footprint , less capital and operating cost , and using less energy , the company said . It takes high throughput Jameson Cells and puts them into all duties of a flotation circuit – roughing , cleaning and scavenging .
“ The Jameson Cell was already recognised as one of the most effective flotation technologies with over 420 installations globally ,” Glencore Technology said . “ Instead of needing a long residence time or complex moving parts , it injects slurry into the cell at high speed , creating instant adhesion to air and successfully floating concentrate within seconds . It does this without agitators , rotors or blowers .”
The new Jameson Concentrator blends different Jameson Cells to configure a modern full circuit in a smaller space .
The Jameson Concentrator can also include the new smallfootprint IsaMill for regrinding . Covering roughly the same footprint as a vertical mill but only a third of the height , the IsaMill avoids working-at-height hazards , is highly efficient , delivers a consistent product size and is proven with over 130 installations , according to Glencore Technology .
“ Comparing the imminent Ozernoye lead and zinc operation ’ s Jameson Concentrator against a conventional layout , the new concentrator delivers up to 60 % footprint reduction , significant capital and operating cost savings , and delivers the same 875 t / h throughput as the conventional option but uses roughly half the energy ,” Glencore Technology said .
The new concentrator is also being installed in Hudbay ’ s New Britannia operation in Canada – due for completion by the time MINExpo rolls round .
Derrick ® Corporation is set to display how its wet and dry fine screening solutions continue to improve mineral processing operations across the globe at the show .
Derrick first introduced the gold processing industry to abrasion-resistance and non-blinding polyurethane screens in the early 1980s . Following initial contributions to advance gold processing technology , it has continued to develop new high-capacity screening equipment , homing in on reducing operating costs , developing new patented technologies , and
minimising maintenance and footprint to reduce environmental impact .
“ Our screen solutions provide leaching circuits with technology that leads to efficient gold recovery and demonstrate our firm commitment to advancing gold processing technology ,” the company said . “ These solutions include trash screens , urethane interstage screens , carbon sizing screens , dewatering screens , tails safety screens , and other processing stages . All equipment incorporates Derrick ’ s strong commitment to personal safety by minimising touchpoints .”
Derrick ’ s latest innovation , Trilogy™ surface technology , will be one of the Derrick booth highlights .
“ Our most advanced screen system , Trilogy is composed of individual thermoplastic components that may be assembled into various configurations for added flexibility ,” the company explained . “ This new innovation from Derrick can increase gold recovery and reduce operating cost .”
Also featured on the Derrick booth will be the SuperStack ® high capacity , high efficiency fine particle wet screening technology . With eight decks operating in parallel and an innovative front-to-back ( FTB ) tensioning system , the SuperStack has a demonstrated capacity up to three times that of the best fine screens currently available , according to the company . All this added capacity comes with only a slight increase in the space required per machine , significantly reducing the total capital and installation cost as well as cutting the operating cost for any screening installation , Derrick claimed .
The FTB system allows for a more effective use of screen area and increased capacity , according to the company . The system , which also reduces screen panel changing time by 80- 90 % compared with side-to-side tensioning , tensions the panel in the direction of flow rather than side-to-side .
A full range of Derrick Polyweb ® urethane screen panels are available for the SuperStack , from 53 m to 1,000 m with slotted openings . An optional repulp spray system introduces free water into replaceable rubber wash troughs to help undersize material pass through screen openings .
Dual oversize launders ( one per side ) and a single undersize launder eliminate the need for a large hopper , minimising height requirements , Derrick said . At the same time , each feeder has a removable front cover to facilitate maintenance and debris removal . And the Flo-Divider™ , which equalises flow from the feed source to each deck , is available in several discharge outlet configurations from two-way to 16-way .
