Jufilouz “Jop” Pacatang; Davao's Pop Prince

StarBox Project Davao introduces its Jewel in the Rough as one of Davao City's raw talents outshines others during the StarBox Project Davao Jam Session held last July 25, 2013, 8:00 pm- 9:00 pm at ICEA Performing Arts Center as the TOP JAMMER of the WEEK.
Inspired by his favorite foreign Artist, Bruno Mars, Jop as fondly known by his friends is a 17 year old Political Science Student of Ateneo De Davao University and has already championed several competitions in Davao City including Acoustic battles inside one of Davao City's malls and has already tried out for reality TV competitions as partof an all boy band dubbed “FAROUT”. Favored by the mentors of Starbox Project Davao for his impressive skills in performing, Jop has managed to win the STARBOX DYNAMIX CHALLENGE. Here are some reasons why;
THE POP ARTIST
Jop's favorite songs are from Bruno Mars and artists coming from the same genre as well as pop songs. His voice quality accompanied by the character and looks that fit nicely together sets girls screaming on the first 8 keys he hits during every song. Gifted with such skills in making arrangements on songs together with his impressive voice range, he has managed to garner praises from local critiques as a PopPrince. “As far as I know, I just love to perform. Sabi nga nila,unless you share it, it will never be yours” was his statement when asked why he engaged himself in this industry.
THE B-BOY
Aside from singing, Jop is also a very talented dancer and would like to call himself a B-BOY dancer. He started way back in high school atAteneo high. Learning stunts and tricks like hand stands, back flips and others of the like has always been a favorite pastime as well asa recreational function for him. Aside from singing, Dancing is hispassion.
THE FAITHFUL AND LOVING SON
Teased a lot of times for going home early and a kill-joy by some friends,Jop prioritizes his obligations as a son to follow direct orders from his parents, though they are supportive to his endeavors as an artist, his family wants him to manage his time and maximize his efficiency so he may be successful not only as an artist but become aprofessional someday after graduating in college. Though this was not demanded by his parents, he has placed his family as one of his TOP Priorities as a son and as a responsible artist.“My dreams revolve around the dreams of my family, yan ang source of strength ko...”Jop's answer when asked how important his family was for him.
THE OBEDIENT AND THE HARD WORKER
Among many talents striving hard to grow and be better in their crafts studying inside StarBox Project Davao, Jop has been observed as one of the Obedient and the hard workers in the team. Praised by the experts as one of the dynamic students that don't say no to challenges of unfamiliar songs and changes, despite short notices, he works hard to hit targets and required materials of the mentors. This quality in him is one of the most commendable attributes of this artist. His humility and antics blend perfectly to his personality making him one of the most likable artists inside StarBox Project Davao.
PREPARING FOR THE BIG BREAK
Jop will be one of the main Artists tobe featured during STARJAM 2013 in Davao City on September. This will be the most exciting concert event to stage local and Fresh Artistsis the Metro. He is now undergoing rigid, coaching, fine tuning and mentoring along with other StarBox Project Davao Talents. The said event is geared towards opening doors of opportunities for our local artists.
