“I am the alliance”
commercial airs again
sportsmen’s alliance Joins wild
harvest initiative
he second airing of a national
commercial for the Sportsmen’s
Alliance ran on the Sportsman
Channel in conjunction with the replay
of Jason Matzinger’s #PROJECTELK
on Oct. 31, and continued to introduce
the sporting world to mission of the
organization. The original airing took
place on Aug. 15 and marked the
national kickoff of rebranding efforts
for the Sportsmen’s Alliance.
“With the message and discussion
#PROJECTELK raises and the
36 million households Sportsman
Channel reaches, we saw no better platform to introduce the new-look Sportsmen’s Alliance to world,” said
Sportsmen’s Alliance Vice President of Marketing and Communications Brian Lynn. “With an additional airing
in October, and our other television partnerships, we have been able to disseminate the mission of the Sportsmen’s
Alliance with a hard-hitting message that defines us to the world.”
The new commercial features a powerful message delivered by an ensemble cast of the most popular and
recognizable faces from the outdoors industry, including Melissa Bachman of Winchester Deadly Passion, Jana Waller
from Skullbound TV, Michael Hunsucker from Heartland Bowhunter, Jen Adams-O’Hara and Norissa Harman from
Universal Huntress TV and Girls with Guns clothing, as well as Jason Matzinger, who also hosts Into High Country.
he Sportsmen’s Alliance has joined forces with
Conservation Visions, Inc. on a groundbreaking
new scientific project to quantify the annual wild protein
harvest from hunting and fishing in the US and Canada.
“For the Sportsmen’s Alliance, protecting hunting and
fishing includes contributing to research that highlights
the roles of hunting and fishing in food security. Seldom is
it acknowledged that the activities of hunting and fishing
produce local, organic, injection-free protein, in addition
to all the human health benefits of being active outdoors”
said President and CEO of Sportsmen’s Alliance, Nick
Pinizzotto. “We pride ourselves on making decisions based
on science and not emotion and propaganda. Partnering on
this study is an important step to bringing people together
that share a love of wild harvest, and are concerned about
food security and where their food comes from.”
The Wild Harvest Initiative, a five-year project
designed to accurately measure the actual biomass of wild
animal protein harvested recreationally in the United
States and Canada, will assess the nutritional, cultural and

economic value of harvested game, as well as the ecological
and financial costs of replacing this food through standard
agricultural and domestic livestock production.
“The harvest and consumption of wildlife has been an
integral part of the human story throughout the entirety of
our existence,” said Shane Mahoney, President and CEO
of Conservation Visions, and widely recognized wildlife
biologist and conservationist. “Agricultural and technological
progress have certainly altered the ways that we obtain our
food, but in many regions of the world, including in the U.S.
and Canada, human populations continue to rely on wild
harvest for a significant part of their diet.”
The results of the Initiative will enable a better
understanding of the economic and ecological impacts
of current land management approaches and will help
validate policies that lead to benefits for people, wildlife,
and the natural habitats that support both. This will
in turn, enable wildlife managers and policy makers to
develop best practices for access to wild protein resources,
and for extending benefits to as many people as possible.
sportsmen’s alliance renews
skullbound tv partnership
F
ans of Skullbound TV will continue to see the
Sportsmen’s Alliance as segment sponsors of the
Sportsman Channel show, which airs on Wednesdays at
8:30 p.m. EST during the first and second quarters of 2016.
“With the popularity of Jana Waller and the show,
as well as the prime-time slot, and the added value of
Skullbound’s large social media presence, to continue
as a segment sponsor was a no brainer,” said Brian
Lynn, vice president of marketing and communication
for the Sportsmen’s Alliance.
“I am so proud to partner up with the Sportsmen’s
Alliance for Season 5 of Skull Bound TV,” said host Jana
Waller. “They have been fighting for our hunting, trapping
and fishing rights behind the scenes in the courtrooms,
but I think it’s vital to help take the Alliance center stage
so all outdoorsmen and women can become members and
help fight the fight and support our heritage.”
