MAINE PROFESSIONAL GUIDES ASSOCIATION MAINTAINS CLUB SUPPORT
S trong partners with the Sportsmen ’ s Alliance for years , the Maine Professional Guides Association has renewed their Club Membership to ensure hunting , fishing and trapping remain viable nationwide . In 2014 , the two organizations partnered to protect bear hunting in Maine when the Humane Society of the United States attempted to undermine sound wildlife management with a ballot initiative that would have banned the use of hounds , bait and traps for black bears .
Established in 1978 , the same year as the Sportsmen ’ s Alliance , the Maine Professional Guides Association is the largest , oldest organization of Maine guides , with over 1,000 members and a 35-year history .
