MESSAGE FROM THE LEADERSHIP
E very year as we put together this annual report , we discuss which issues to highlight and how best to communicate our mission and impact in a digestible and quantifiable manner . That ’ s no easy task considering the nuances of court cases that carry on for years or the backroom political maneuvering that takes place in statehouses nationwide .
This year we ’ ve gone more in depth , showing the complexity and breadth of our work from top to bottom . Whether that ’ s fighting for what ’ s right through our advocacy efforts or informing and educating the general public , industry partners or the next generation , this report demonstrates the magnitude and impact of our work , firsthand .
In many ways , 2022 was our best year ever and that is a direct testament to your generous support , and the support of thousands of members , donors , corporate sponsors and partners across the country . Without each of you , our ability to defend against the many attacks of the deeppocketed , radical animal-rights groups would be diminished . Your support keeps us in the fight , and that fight is as critical as it ’ s ever been .
The animal-rights extremists are working at every level of government in their attack on scientific wildlife management and the North American Model of Conservation . You are the reason we can engage in those fights . You are the reason scientific management and wildlife will survive for future generations to enjoy .
It ’ s no secret there are groups that want to end our way of life . Its frankly the sole reason our organizations exist . Countering those attacks is time-consuming and , unfortunately , expensive work . But it ’ s a job of deep personal passion to each of our staff . This past year we prioritized expanding our reach by building effective partnerships that amplify the voice of sportsmen in state capitols . At the same time we overhauled our advocacy software , making it easier for people to directly interact with their elected officials to defend our rights .
