FIGHTING FOR WHAT ’ S RIGHT

IN THE COURTS

OUR LAST RESORT TO SAVE SPORTSMEN

THE STRUGGLE : Partisanship and single-party super majorities in state legislatures has made it nearly impossible to work legislatively in many states , especially on the East and West coasts . At the same time , increased urbanization is producing conservative legislators who support anti-hunting legislation in suburban districts . This trend has forced sportsmen into legislative battles in states previously regarded as safe havens . Throw a White House friendly to extreme animal and environmental activists into the mix and we ’ re left fighting at every level of government .
OUR ANSWER : To meet this changing landscape , we must employ a new strategy to be successful long-term . In short , turning aggressively to the third branch of government – the courts – for redress is often becoming our only option .
CONSTITUTION-LESS CALIFORNIA : With an eye on the White House , California Gov . Gavin Newsom signed AB 2571 into law in 2022 , and by doing so , created the most damaging anti-hunting and -gun law in the land . Billed as a safety measure against “ indoctrination ,” the law ’ s broad definition of “ marketing ” firearms to youth will crush the firearms industry in the state , and crater conservation funding
