Sportsmen's Alliance Annual Report 2021 2021 | Page 2

MESSAGE FROM THE LEADERSHIP

With COVID restrictions loosening throughout 2021 , the animal-rights movement revived their attacks with a new vigor in state legislatures , the courts , through petitions and at the ballot box . This multi-faceted attack stretched us far and wide in the nationwide defense of hunting , fishing and trapping , but we ’ ve been able to answer the challenge in every arena .

The steps we took during the pandemic have made us stronger and more agile than ever . Each division of the Sportsmen ’ s Alliance is experiencing growth – programming , communications , membership , staff . We ’ ve been able to grow without sacrificing financial stability and have transitioned that into effective advocacy at every level and with every constituency .
We continue to produce high-quality research that helps NGOs and state wildlife agencies to recruit new hunters and better understand the sportsmen they currently serve . Another major research project demonstrates the importance of hunting to the North American Model of Wildlife Management , and to our state and local economies , as we break down the financial impact of hunters and recreational shooters within all 435 Congressional districts .
Our Government Affairs team has new faces and new spirit for challenging the anti-hunting activists on every playing field – from statehouses and courtrooms to commission meetings and the ballot box .
The Marketing and Communications staff has grown and expanded our offerings and outreach across social platforms and mainstream media outlets while increasing communications and coverage concerning members .
Our new educational programming has taken off . The results from our first year in public schools is as exciting and promising as anyone could have dreamed .
Online raffles and in-person events continue to offer great prize packages that reward members and other supporters . In turn , those successful revenue streams have better helped us protect your interests politically .
All of these changes and growth have allowed the Sportsmen ’ s Alliance to engage more effectively with friend and foe at every level of government and public relations while remaining true to our mission and financially stable . This is all because of YOUR support and dedication as members , donors and voices of activism for hunting , fishing and trapping . We thank you for that support and trust , and look forward to fighting on your behalf in 2022 and beyond !
Sincerely ,
Evan Heusinkveld Sportsmen ’ s Alliance Sportsmen ’ s Alliance Foundation President & CEO
