David Bommersbach in the middle Garrett Jones and Brendan Thielmann go up for the block “we stay healthy,” and Captain Thielmann does not disagree. “I think Larry’s evaluation of our team is fair,” said Thielmann. “I think we have a really good team and I think we can compete in Canada West, but I’m just not sure what it is with all the injuries. If we can find a way to stay healthy I think we have a team that’s good enough to challenge.” A Kinesiology student at the U of W who played a bit of soccer as a youngster, Thielmann isn’t sure what he’ll do at the end of the season. He admits he’d like to coach, eventually, but for now, there is still a lot of volleyball left this season. “We still have a long schedule ahead and I’m not really thinking about what I might do when I graduate or what I’ll do next season,” he said. “I just really like playing on this team. All the coaches are outstanding and every guy on the team brings an element to the gym that makes us a better team. The coaches have a lot of work to do this year with all the injuries and they’ve been great.
