Division. Winnipeg will have the honour of helping open
Cleburne’s brand new ballpark on May 19. The 10-game
opening road trip also includes a rematch of last year’s
American Association Championship Series against the
Wichita Wingnuts.
The Goldeyes’ 2017 home opener is scheduled for
Monday, May 29, against the Sioux Falls Canaries. Nine
different clubs will visit Shaw Park in 2017 while the 2017
home slate features three 11:00 a.m. matinee starts on
May 31 versus Sioux Falls, June 13 versus Grand Prairie,
and July 19 versus St. Paul.
The Goldeyes will play host to their annual Canada Day
game on Saturday, July 1, when the Canaries visit for a
4:00 p.m. first pitch. All remaining Saturday games at
Shaw Park are scheduled for 6:00 p.m., while all Sunday
contests begin at 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday home
games commence at 7:00 p.m., with the exception of the
three matinee starts previously mentioned, and a 1:00
p.m. first pitch on Monday, September 4, for “Fan
Appreciation Day.”
The American Association once again plays a continuous, 100-game schedule with three division winners and
one wild card qualifying for the post-season. The
Goldeyes remain in
the American
Association North
Division along with
the Fargo-Moorhead
RedHawks, St. Paul
Saints, and Sioux
Falls Canaries. Fortyfive of the Goldeyes’ 100 regular season matches are
against divisional opponents with the rival RedHawks
making a pair of four-game visits to Shaw Park in July and
September.
The 2017 All-Star Game will be held Tuesday, July 25,
and will be hosted by the Can-Am League’s Ottawa
Champions at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Park.
Spring training kicks off for the Goldeyes on Saturday,
May 6, with the Goldeyes’ annual Open House event at
Shaw Park. The Goldeyes also play host to the RedHawks
for a pair of exhibition games on May 10 and 11.
