registered. Next year’s tournament will be held at the new Seven Oaks Arena and the girls are already looking forward to defending their title. Both the school’s players and principals were excited to be together. Some of the players have played every year of their high school eligibility while they also rostered some rookie players. Kristen Fraser, a grade 12 student at TCI has some great memories. “I have played for my school for all 4 years. As a member of the school team in Grade 9, I was shy and just followed what the older girls did. I remember how welcoming they were and how they made sure we had fun and were proud of our school. As a member of the team in Grade 12 I was one of the leaders and captains. I encouraged the younger girls to have fun and be proud of our school. Since this is the only chance we get to play together it was great and gave me the opportunity to meet and play with other ringette players in my school.” “Although in my 4 years of playing we only had 1 win representing TCI, in the high school tournament, it is something I am proud of and will never forget. It was so much fun! I will miss it when I graduate this year. I do hope to come back and help coach and mentor the team in the future. I will come back with the same pride in Transcona Collegiate as I have now!
