Back on March 14, 22 National Football League scouts
showed up at the University of Manitoba’s Soccer Complex to
watch one football player work out. It was an amazing sight
as the NFLers timed, measured and studied 6-foot-5, 310pound David Onyemata, the best lineman in CIS football last
year and a 23-year-old with a legitimate chance to be selected
as early as the late second round of the upcoming NFL draft.
“I think I took a huge step today,” Onyemata reporters after
the workout. “Just showing what kind of athlete I am and
what kind of person I am.” l
