Sometimes you have to wonder how good
things fall into your lap. Here in Manitoba,
a good thing showed up five years ago,
but only now, the public is starting
to understand exactly who Dr. Chuck
Williams is and what his presence here
means to our province.
These days, Williams is the owner and
operator of Achieve Sports Performance
Academy, an exclusive Performance
Academy located on Ellice Avenue in the
Canlan Ice Sports complex.
However, if you’re in Winkler, Man.,
where Williams also works as a Clinical
Psychologist contracted by CFS and
Victims Services, as well as Active Rehab
Specialist (injuries/concussions/etc.)
for MPI, or in the North or West End of
Winnipeg, where Williams works his
magic on a number of MS patients and
other Manitobans at the Cindy Klassen
SportsPlex on Sargent Ave., people are
beginning to benefit from a remarkable
life in sports, education, training, coaching
and teaching.

“I was born in Harlem and grew up
in Teaneck, N.J.,” he said. “I was always a
skilled street fighter. Trained by my father,

and Derobio-Escrima.
“But in the mid-80s, I started to get
involved with bodybuilding. I had no idea
what these professional bodybuilders
were doing with their bodies until I
reached my first (NPC) Mr. America in
1982 in New York. I was 187 pounds at
the bottom end of the class, a muscular
yet slight light-heavyweight and I was
on-stage with guys who were massive
at the top end of the weight class at
“that was 1982 and I won
my first Mr. America

in San Jose, Cal., and
subsequently the
Mr. Universe in
Singapore in 1983”
