As proof, we present Exhibit A: In the sixth inning of the first game of the 2015 Winnipeg Goldeyes regular season, Luis Alen hit a fastball from Grand Prairie AirHogs starter Danny Gutierrez through the infield for a base hit. It was the 632nd time in his seven-year Goldeyes career that Alen had connected on a base hit. It was a brand new career record and it essentially made Alen the greatest hitter in Goldeyes history. Just for good measure, Alen stole second and scored on a Josh Mazzola single but until he reached third base, he had no idea how close he was to Max Poulin’s club record. “Honestly, I didn’t know how close I was,” he said. “I kind of realized it when I got to third and (Goldeyes manager) Rick (F
