In the third quarter, McCardle, also the punter, conceded a safety to make it 14-9 and then, late in the third, Bachewich hit Rowan behind the Broncos secondary and he took it the final 40-yards to the house. The convert was missed but Massey had a 15-14 and after a scoreless fourth quarter, that’s how it ended. Besides catching two touchdown passes, Rowan also carried 22 times for 157 yards and was named offensive player of the game. Wesley Penner of Beaver Brae was named defensive player of the game. In the Junior Varsity final, Sisler quarterback Tyler Koniuk made a statement. Koniuk completely controlled the flow of the game, put up 33 points in the first half and scored two touchdowns himself as he led the Spartans to the WHSFL JV final. Koniuk pretty much put it on ice in the first half as Sisler went to the break leading 33-7. Koniuk ran 18 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter and then carried 20 yards for the final touchdown of the game. In between, he handed to his huge tailback/middle linebacker Brayden Desjarlais who carried one-yard, nine-yards, two-yards and one-yard for four more touchdowns. Desjarlais finished with 136 yards on 20 carries. Tailback Dima Lyubashenko scored all three touchdowns for Oak Park on runs of two, one and 11 yards.
