It takes a special someone to lead . Not everyone is made to be a leader . Some are more the following types , and that ’ s fine . You need both to have a successful program .

The ones that can lead will be the ones that can get their message across . They will be able to get the message of the coaching staff across to the players . That might be the most important thing about being a leader .
There will be times when the message from the coach just falls on deaf ears . Players have a tendency to tune out the coaching staff everyone once and awhile . It ’ s up to the captain to be able to rally the troops together for the good the team .
Being a captain at any age is tough , being a captain in high school is not easy . The captain is normally the same age of even younger than the rest of the players on the team . They have to be able to get their peers to listen to what they have to say .
It ’ s not an easy task , but one that if they can thrive could lead to big things in the future .
Williamsville East High School girls ’ soccer is known as a powerhouse throughout the Western New York community . They churn out Division I talent on a yearly basis , and expectations are always high for the program .
The person , or people , who are named captain very year have a responsibility to keep the train rolling . It ’ s a daunting task , but one that has it ’ s benefits . For most of the girls on the team , they have role models they could look up to see how leading the team was done .
However , at the end of the day , it will be that person who puts their stamp on the program for the upcoming school year that matters .
