What happen to the sum-
mer weather?
The temps changed pret-
ty quickly, which means the
playoffs must be underway.
As I write this today, I am
looking out my window and
the rain is coming down,
the wind is gusting, and the
temps are in the 50’s. It’s per-
fect playoff weather.
This is what every club
during the summer was
working for - a chance to
win a sectional title. There
have been a lot of great per-
formances so far this fall sea-
son. How about Ann Miller’s
22 save performance for Wil-
liamsville East High School -
which was a tremendous feet.
A team that has flown
completely under the radar
this soccer season has been
Hamburg High School girls’
team. They went undefeated
in league play - and only lost
one game all year, to rival
Frontier last week.
They beat Williamsville
East twice on the season
and are poised to
make a serious
run at a sectional
title. Frontier FC
has been anoth-
er surprise. They
have won 13 games
this year and took
down
Orchard
Park, Williamsville
North and Lancast-
er during the sea-
son. Only Clarence,
which is top ranked
in the state, has giv-
en Frontier fits all
season long.
In a loaded playoff,
Frontier will have to
be at its best to make a
deep run and get Clar-
ence for a third time in
the playoffs.
As
the
weather
changes are focus will not.
We will write stories on any
student-athlete and still have
features on soccer and oth-
er sports that were taking
place in the fall. We will have
some hockey and hoops fea-
tures coming on the horizon
as well as lacrosse, baseball
and whatever we can get our
hands on.
As we finish the quarter of
the season, we would like to
thank you for reading us once
again. We have seen our is-
sue go through the roof since
we came back in August. We
can’t wait to bring you more
and more stories - and more
photos.
