There is always one game
that defines a career for an
athlete. It’s the one game
that will put them on the
map for. One game that will
have people talking about
them for years to come. For
some athletes that game
can come at the beginning
of a career.

It can be that defining
moment. The one game
that will set their career
ahead.
For Williamsville East
High School girls soccer
keeper Anna Miller her
defining moment came
during a 22 save perfor-
mance against Williams-
ville South High School.
Twenty-two saves is a
pretty impressive perfor-
mance.
Some would have to won-
der where the defense was
too allow 22 shots on goal.
But, Miller was up to the
task, stopping all 22 in a
shutout performance. The
interesting thing about the
performance was that it
wasn’t the first time Mill-
er was peppered with the
many shots in a game.
In fact, Miller faced even
more in a game before.
“Yes, I have faced that
many shots before, more
than once actually,” stated
Miller. “I used to play for a
team that was really young
for the age group we were
placed in, so I got a lot of
shots. We didn’t have the
best record, but it helped
me to never give up no
matter how the game is
going. As soon as you put
your head down the other
team has won.”
Playing in that type of
game, a player needs to be
in a zone. Miller was in a
zone. While some shots
were routine, others were
not. Miller knew she need-
