From The
It’s been awhile, hasn’t it?
While everyone is enjoy-
ing this wonderful Western
New York summer, we are
working hard on bringing
back the magazine portion
of Sports Union. Last win-
ter, I made the decision to
scrap the magazine and
just focus on bringing top
notch feature writing to
our website. It wasn’t an
easy decision, but one that
I thought would be good
for business.
As the high school sea-
son went on, I was asked
on numerous occasions if
I would be back the mag-
azine. So, after much
thought, the magazine is
back with our Aug. 3 issue.
Things are changing with
the magazine,
however, as
we will be
coming out
two issues
a
month.
We felt the
only way this
could work
the way we
wanted it to
was by writ-
ing
about
the
Western
New York stu-
d e n t- a t h l e te s
twice as much.
So, after to-
day’s issue, we
will be back on
Aug. 17 with
our second of
the month. Also,
we will still have
features on our
website, sportsunionwny.
com. We won’t change our
missions - writing the best
feature stories about high
school and college stu-
dent-athletes in WNY.
We know our place. We
know there are other sites
in the area that cover the
day-to-day games. That’s
not us - and never will be.
We will focus on the long
form feature stories that
makes us different.
We are excited to be back.
We hope you are excited
to have us back. Questions
and comments can be sent
to Owner Matthew Ondes-
ko at mattondesko@ya-
hoo.com.
See you in the fall.
