NFL Creates Agreement with Players in Support of activism
By: Taylor Bayek
The NFL protests have been a big issue of controversy over this season for the NFL and the players of the NFL. Players have started kneeling during the national anthem as a form of protesting racial injustice and police brutality. However this has caused a big problem as many citizens including the president find this very disrespectful towards the anthem of our country. The NFL has now come to an agreement that will hopefully solve this issue. The League and the teams are to provide from 90-100 Million dollars from the day of the agreement to 2023 to social causes deemed worthy by the players, specifically in African American communities . Although this does not directly address players protesting the national anthem it shows the players that the league has listened to them and is willing to act to try and fix a big problem in our country. This is a big victory for the players of the NFL and Colin Kaepernick who was the first player to take a knee during the anthem.
