Schyuler W. Marshall ~
Heavy Hitter
“Aim for the stars, you just might hit
the moon on the way.”
Schyuler Marshall is an up-and-coming competitor looking to make a name for himself in
professional boxing. Marshall is no stranger to intense competition, he is known for playing
football and basketball, as well as competing in track and field. Four years ago, he decided to
focus on the sport of boxing.
“I have always loved to fight so I decided to try out for the Tough Man
Competition which led to 2 victories that gave me the label of champion.”
“I also love to hear the crowd scream my name after a win.”
Marshall is currently training hard in preparation for upcoming fights this year. His favorite
training routine includes running, shadow boxing, and hitting the speed bag. He makes a
consistent effort to study highlight films of past boxing champions and also watch his
past fights in efforts to identify his weaknesses and turn them into strengths.
To have a successful run at a title shot is his ultimate goal. He dreams of “becoming one of the
greatest boxers that ever put on boxing gloves.” He understands the importance of goal setting
in addition to training.
“I set high goals, but I set realistic goals as well. So I can see my progress and
achievements along the way. By doing this I stay focused.”
He notes his biggest challenges in regards to boxing is finding an ample amount of time
to train due to his strenuous work schedule. This could lead to frustration but he
constantly thinks about making a better life for his family so he push through exhaustion
and muscle cramps to train in spite of. His motto is “No Pain, No Gain.”
Marshall notes his faith and family is what keeps him focused and striving to become not only a
better professional boxer but a better person.
“Always follow your dreams and never give up. Always put God first in everything
because through him anything is possible. If you put in the hard work, dedication,
time, and effort you would be surprised at what you could accomplish. The
breakthrough that I have experienced is giving my Life to Christ and I was led to this
decision because God gave me a second chance to pursue my dreams.”
