equal one of Jordan ' s accomplishments he needs to get his own run of three consecutive titles. That has a good chance of happening in 2013-14.
While there are some games when he can do it, James can ' t win a championship by himself. That means injuries to other Heat players could stop him achieving his goals. Mike Miller is always injured, Ray Allen is very old, Bosh gets hurt a bit and there is the chance that the wear and tear on Wade will lower his production and how many games he will play. Wade ' s knees could be the biggest problem but he also had shoulder and hand injuries that could flare up again. Wade has never played 82 games in a season and in four of his nine seasons has not managed to play 70 games.
Contracts expiring at the same time is what created Miami ' s SuperFriends, their Big Three. After the completion of the 2013-14 NBA season it could be the contracts of James, Wade and Bosh that change things again. All of them have player options to leave and it could be a summer of salary cap space for many other NBA teams. The Lakers could make room for LeBron to sign there, where he could play like Magic Johnson some games, like James Worthy in others and even a power forward role like Elgin Baylor did back in his day too. The Mavericks could give Bosh a huge contract and Bosh was born in Dallas. Teams would also open up the wallets to get Wade as well.
While Wade has always been a Heat player, drafted by Miami with the fifth pick in 2003, it is now LeBron ' s team so Wade may have interest in moving along. He is currently LeBron ' s sidekick and the challenge of being Batman again instead of Robin could appeal to him. In that situation it makes Bosh the equivalent of Alfred, Batman ' s butler. If any of the Heat ' s Big Three has something to prove it is Bosh, while he is an All-Star player his role with the Heat isn ' t that different to what Matt Bonner does for the Spurs or what Andrea Bargnani will now do for the Knicks. Bosh is a big who can space the floor so the brighter stars of the team can shine, as they score and get the accolades. If Bosh wants a larger role, and the bright spotlight on him instead of James and Wade, he could leave.
As Miami knows how players can leave teams they might also see this as a chance to get an even better group of players around LeBron. Trading away Bosh or even Wade could happen and just as Bosh was more than happy to join the Heat there are other players who could push for a trade to Miami. Kevin Love is only a couple of years away from being able to walk away from Minnesota and the Heat would benefit from having him on the floor with LeBron James. Bosh is a great player but Love is a better outside shooter, rebounder and passer.
As Spike Lee said at the draft, somebody has to stop the Miami Heat from winning again. Of course teams want to win the title but they could be assisted in 2013-14 by teams that want to win something else, the first pick in the draft to select Andrew Wiggins. Rebuilding teams are offering up their stars so they can enter a rebuilding mode and that means a few more " Super Teams " could be created to combat the Heat. James was able to beat the Celtics and Nets in 2012-13 but now he faces what is a merged team of superstars as Deron Williams, Joe Johnson and Brook Lopez have now been joined by Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry.
