I will be honest, I did not want Alabama to win. I was rooting for Notre Dame just for something different, rather than another Alabama Championship. I wanted to see the Manti Te'o story finish with a grand ending. Also, I partly wanted Notre Dame to win for Mike Golic and his family.
Back to the dynasty. Alabama Senior Center Barrett Jones said this after the game: "Three out of four. I'm no dynasty expert, but that seems like a dynasty to me."
And he's right. No other team has won 3/4 BCS Championships since Nebraska who won in 1994, '95, and '97.
When Nick Saban talked about the dynasty, he gave the expected coach's answer. "There is no continuum of success," he said. "History can't help us win."
While that is true, that a championship from 3 years ago does not affect this year's, it does not change the fact that this team has moved into dynastic discussions and deservedly so.
Now the question becomes if Alabama can "three-peat" and win 4 out of 5. I highly doubt that though because their beast RB Eddie Lacy has announced that he will enter the upcoming NFL Draft. I honestly think even Notre Dame has a better chance at winning it all next season with the recruiting class that they have coming in. But only one condition, if Brian Kelly stays. Sources say he has had multiple talks with the Philadelphia Eagles and I wouldn't be surprised if he left for the NFL. Saban, I believe, is done in the NFL. He was a fail in Miami and has obviously figured something out about how to win in college.
