I'm not sure if I've ever seen a matchup between two teams as similar as these in my life. The Ravens and 49ers seem like a mirror reflection of each other. Both like to run the ball, can throw the ball downfield, and have tough defenses. The only real difference that I can find is at the quarterback position. The 49ers' Kaepernick is quick on his feet and a threat to take off with his legs on any given play. That is a huge plus for San Francisco, but the other difference is also in Kaepernick, and it isn't a good one. Kaepernick is in just his second season, and has only started 10 games in the NFL. Those differences cancel out making this an incredibly hard game to predict. The Ravens are older, more experienced, and probably have the emotional advantage over the Niners with this being Ray Lewis' last game. But being older also makes you a little slower and not as fresh as the younger 49ers team. This game comes down to one man in my mind. That man is Joe Flacco. If he continues his dominance, (8 TDs, 0 INTs this postseason), then the Ravens will win. Flacco will prove that he is not "Fluke-O" as some analysts call him. He is playing for a massive contract this offseason and a Super Bowl victory is the best thing that he could do to help that.
Winner:
Baltimore Ravens
Score: 27-26
Super Bowl MVP:
Joe Flacco
