NFL MOCK DRAFT

By: Ryan Welte

I'm not the type to do Mock Drafts 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and 21.0. When I do a mock draft, it is my mock draft. So here it is, my 2013 NFL Mock Draft.

1) Kansas City Chiefs: Luke Joeckel, OT

The Chiefs have had an amazing offseason upgrading at almost every position. They get to top it off with the #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft. Having a great lineman to protect their new QB Alex Smith and block for RBs Jamaal Charles and Peyton Hillis.

2) Jacksonville Jaguars: Dion Jordan, DE

The Jaguars had the fewest sacks in the NFL this past season. While they need a QB, they should go with Jordan because I think he will be a solid player in the NFL. If needed, they could make a move for Tim Tebow, or just stick with Gabbert one more year to get a high draft pick next year in hopes of a better QB draft class.

3) Oakland Raiders: Ezekiel Ansah, DE

The Raiders made a move for Matt Flynn this week, making me believe they won't go after Geno Smith. The Raiders were second to last in sacks last year, and I think Ansah will the the answer.

4) Philadelphia Eagles: Eric Fisher, OT

The Eagles and Michael Vick are very used to QB injuries. Vick has played in all 16 games only once in his career. Investing in another offensive lineman isn't a bad idea.

5) Detriot Lions: Sharrif Floyd, DT

The Lion's offense is loaded after the signing of Reggie Bush this offseason. They need to upgrade on defense, including the D-Line. This time, they need to draft a quality person too though. Hopefully Floyd can team with Suh and Fairley for a deadly pass rush.

The two players most people want to hear about is QB Geno Smith and LB Manti Te'o. I don't think Smith is going to be a good QB, but somebody is still going to take a chance on him. I think he could go as high as 2 to the Jaguars, but that would be a colossal mistake for them. I could see Cleveland drafting him with the sixth pick, but I think it will be the Buffalo Bills at 8th overall who draft him, after they let go Ryan Fitzpatrick this offseason. If Smith drops past the Chargers at the 11th spot, he will be an early second rounder, because no other team from 12 on needs a QB. As for Te'o, I think he could be pretty decent. I wouldn't be upset if the Bears replaced Urlacher with him. I think he could go as early as 17 and as late as 32. If I had to guess, I would say he goes 19th to the New York Giants.
