I’m sure you noticed our different look right away when you pulled Sportsmen’s Monthly from your mailbox, and I hope your first impression was positive. If you’re not sold right away on our new logo and the shortening of our name, I think in time you will see that this was an important and necessary step for the organization. When I first arrived at Sportsmen’s Alliance a little over two years ago, a few things stood out to me about our outward image. As a sportsmen’s organization, I thought we were a little too much shirt and tie, and not enough camouflage and blaze orange. I thought our logo had a bit of an aged feel and gave a lot of impressions that led people to believe that we are a shooting sports organization as opposed to one that works to protect hunting, fishing and trapping. To those of you who have been supporting us for many years, it’s likely that you never gave our name or logo much thought, and it was probably just fine with you. But in order to attract new people to our organization, it was necessary for us to liven up our look while still being the toughest dog in the yard when it comes to defending our outdoor heritage. To that end, we believe we settled on a look that is appealing, modern and strong that will help us in our effort to grow membership. Be sure to read the feature in this issue for more details on our rebranding efforts and why we felt it was important. Ultimately it is important that we become an attractive brand for potential members and supporters, which will result in a larger and stronger organization that is even better equipped to protect our outdoor sports that we all love. I think we took a big step in that direction. Setting the record straight on California Bears Nick Pinizzotto | President and CEO Social media What’s trending?
