“We also arrange tournaments for the beginners and team building sessions
in the form of day camps during the summer holidays. During the winter
months the club provides free coaching for juniors on the driving range.
The clubhouse is open to the public and we provide a safe and friendly
environment for children and family groups.
“The Directors Andrew & Artemis Sparsis (brothers)have never stopped
spending since they took over the club in 2008. They have improved and
modernised the clubhouse, with the addition of new changing/locker
rooms, extended the pro shop to 2000 square feet, boasting the largest on
course shop in the area.
“We have on-going projects on the course improving bunkers, drainage
and layout. We have just completed a new water hazard on the ninth hole
much to the despair of some of the members. We like to keep it interesting!
“This year we are focusing on publicising the club, as many people still
have the impression that all golf clubs are members only and as we are
open to the public we feel it is important that we make it clear that anyone
can use our facilities. We have also expanded our advertising via websites
connected with Visitor Uk, Venues4funerals and ukbride.
“We have noticed golf membership figures have reduced over the last
3 years so our biggest challenge will be increasing our revenue through
general green fees and income supporting the bars and restaurant. Over the
coming years our aims are to increase revenue and expand our services.”
