backs them all the way which we do
and are confident we have everything in
place to continue to be successful.
“Youth rugby has been hugely
important in the last twenty years in
Highfield. The majority of our players
come through the youth structure here
and I remember at one stage last year
thirteen of the fifteen players who took
to the field had come through our youth
structure which is huge for us.
“Some of the biggest challenges
the club will face will be trying to keep
people involved in the game when they
finish playing. We need to make sure
that they realise that they’re part of the
club and that they’ve an awful lot more
to give, whether that’s in coaching or
administration because the club needs
active members to flourish. We have a
lot of guys that are willing to work hard
here and take ownership of the place.
Highfield is very much a community
in itself and it has to continue to be
otherwise it will cease to exist.
Mary Foyle is a club sponsor of Highfield
Rugby Club with her business Travel
Counsellors. She recently spoke to Rugby
Club Magazine, saying, “It was really
through both my sons Kevin and Sean
that I first became involved with the club.
Both started playing as 6 year olds and
now Kevin is 25 and has played number
9 for the past seven seasons. Sean has
recently moved from flanker to the front
row for the U20s.
Travel Counsellors have sponsored the
club for the last six years and we like
to support the club when we can. They
are a very family orientated club and
the lads really enjoy being involved.
Congratulations to the players, committee
and everyone involved with Highfield
Rugby Club on a great 2016/2017 season
- best wishes for the future!”

“Our ambition is for the club playing
competitive rugby at the highest possible
level that we can. We need to make
sure that we’ve got everything in place
behind the scenes and it is important that
everyone is enjoying their rugby here. As
long as we keep the set up right then I
believe everything else will fall into place
and the club will continue to do well.”
