Luke have represented England on numerous occasions , with Luke as Captain . Emma , her daughter was part of the history making all girl ’ s team who in 2008 won the Gerald Balding 8 goal tournament in an unprecedented move against the traditionally male teams .
In 1989 , Simon and Claire revived Beaufort Polo Club with two main objectives ; to encourage young players to learn and improve their game , and to provide first class polo facilities for players and spectators alike .
In May 1995 , HRH the Prince of Wales opened the Clubhouse . Built from Cotswold stone , it is arguably the most attractive Clubhouse in the country and is a huge asset to the Club . The relaxed bar area is open to players and members of the Club and can seat at least 70 people for lunch and tea .
In recent years Mark and Luke have taken over from their parents in the running of the Club , maintaining the fundamental values of the club , whilst Emma fronts the pioneering Beaufort Embryo Transfer Unit , now known as Tomlinson Equine .
The Club is home to one of the highlights of the polo season , the Gloucestershire Festival of Polo , a two day weekend spectacle of polo in June . In recent years both HRH the Duke of Cambridge and HRH Prince Henry of Wales have delighted the crowds on and off the field as part of the Maserati Royal Charity Match . The Club continues to evolve and dedicate itself to providing excellent facilities and brilliant polo .
