Mortgage experts hit the rugby pitch
Surrey-based mortgage brokers Monica
Bradley Associates have been proud headline
sponsors of Sutton & Epsom Rugby Football
Club since last November. However, while
many sponsors would be happy with a mutually
beneficial partnership, some of the staff at the
award-winning company have gone the extra
mile and joined the rugby club as team players.
22-year-old Mortgage and Protection
Adviser James Watson, 33-year-old Senior
Mortgage and Protection Adviser Philip
Leivesley and 32-year-old Senior Mortgage
and Protection Adviser Shaun De Moura have
been playing for Sutton & Epsom Rugby Club
this year. The trio have re-kindled their love for
the sport they used to play when they were
younger, while enjoying the camaraderie and
team spirit that the club has to offer.
“A colleague persuaded me to go along to
a training session and after one session, I had
the bug,” says James Watson. “I’m now playing
regularly and can’t wait for each game.”
His colleague, Philip Leivesley, plays with
Sutton & Epsom’s Extra Bs, which involves
training once a week and playing every
Saturday. “Sutton & Epsom has a fantastic
setup,” he says. “I was immediately struck by
how welcoming everyone is at the club, which
is a real focal point of the local community.”
“Since joining the team my fitness has
improved,” says Shaun De Moura. “Being part
of the club is great as the camaraderie is terrific.”
The two-year sponsorship deal, brokered
just before the start of the 2017/2018 season,
provides financial and commercial support for
the Sutton & Epsom Rugby club, with club
president Robert Knight commenting: “The
team at Monica Bradley Associates have
really embraced the club, attending pre-match
lunches, watching matches and enjoying post-
match fun.”
