Chester-le-Street Swimming CLUB

First established in 1975 , Chester-le-Street Amateur Swimming Club offers people in their local area a chance to take part in swimming as a competitive sport . They are based at the Burns Green Leisure Centre and are led by their Chairman Terry Mason while Gary Renshaw is their Head Coach .

The club has put together a history of which they have every right to be proud and have grown significantly in terms of both size and stature over the years . They now have a wealth of talented athletes that have been achieving success at local , national and international level .

• A structured programme of training that is geared to the development of individual swimmers
• A high standard of coaching from qualified coaches on swimming technique , fitness and motivation
• The opportunity to take part regularly in appropriate competitive events , including the club ’ s own galas
• The opportunity to participate in social events to promote a friendly atmosphere as well as to raise funds for the club
• Easily accessible information on club activities and developments ( through the noticeboard , website etc .).
As a club they are committed to encouraging participation at all levels and have a number of different teaching squads in place in order to cater for this .
