Newcastle Roller Girls
Newcastle v Berlin credit Kodak Kojak year as one of the only B teams allowed to play in the British Championships tournament . They ’ ve played against some really tough teams , but I ’ ve no doubt they ’ ve learnt lots .
Our C team have had more games than ever this year , and it continues to be a great developmental space for our newer skaters .”
Get Involved
“ I ’ d advise anyone with an interest just to do it , you won ’ t look back ! We ’ ve got a new intake coming up at the start of
2018 ; it ’ ll change your life . I don ’ t know many other people outside of our sport who have 40 best friends !
Details of how to sign up for our new skater intake starting in January , or to take part in free taster sessions in partnership with North Tyneside Council in November , are on our Facebook page - www . facebook . com / newcastlerollergirls .”
Challenges / Ambitions
“ Our biggest challenges are audience , recruitment and retention . Our sport is self-funded , and luckily our subs pay for lots of stuff , but international travel is expensive , which we have to do to maintain and gain rankings . Having bigger crowds at our home games really helps to generate income to go towards that and we do a lot of fundraising as well . The A team really want to make it to the WFTDA D2 champs , which would be an enormous achievement . And make loads more amazing memories !”
