Sheffield Steeldogs eventually come out 3-2 winners and highlight the potential that the current side has .
They were boosted further recently when they were able to announce the signing of sixteen year old netminder Curtis Warburton . At just sixteen he already has experience of playing at Conference and England level and should prove to be a valuable addition to the side .
Speaking to www . sheffieldsteeldogs . com after the signing Steeldogs owner Ali Cree , said , “ It is with great pleasure that we get to add another prospect player turned squad member to our roster . Curtis caught the eye of the players and coaches at the recent prospect trials and has been training with the squad since then . Curtis is a great addition and at a young age allows our other senior goaltenders to work with him during his early years of playing senior hockey .”
Ben Morgan , Coach added , “ We ’ re delighted to have on board a young and talented netminder in Curtis . Since he tried out for us during pre-season he has done nothing but impress myself and everyone at the club with his attitude and intensity shown during training . For a young man he presents himself as someone who is level headed and focussed on taking this opportunity to develop his game to the next level which
I ’ m sure he will do if he continues to work hard and listen to the experienced words from both Dima and Stonsey ”.
It is clearly an exciting time to be involved with the Steeldogs and on the ice they will be looking to cement their position at the top of the standings over the coming weeks . As long as they are able to keep up their recent level of performance they should have nothing to worry about .
The success the team is achieving on the ice at the moment is a just reward for all of the hard work behind the scenes that has gone into making them a strong outfit .
