Arctic Quest FOLLOW US ONLINE twitter.com/sportinprofile Arctic Quest Arctic Quest is a sled dog company based in Gloucestershire where people can come and learn how to run and work with huskies. The company offers a wide range of experiences from kids parties, corporate events to hen and stag do’s to individual experiences. The company has now been running for seven years. Sport in Profile Magazine recently caught up with their Managing Director Vickie Pullin to find out more about what they do. Involvement She told us, “I did a husky ride in Canada when I was eighteen years old and completely fell in love with the dogs and the whole experience. This then took me to Alaska where I worked with a commercial sled dog team. In 2010, I set up my own business; Arctic Quest was born. In 2014, I competed in my first ever sprint sled dog race and then fell 6 Issue 15 in love with racing. I’ve been racing for Team GB ever since.” The Role “The most rewarding aspect of my role is simply working with my dogs every day. To able to be a part of this amazing canine athlete team is a real honour and privilege. I’m the luckiest person to be able to work and play with my dogs all day every day. The most challenging is that my life and lifestyle is dedicated to my team. It’s 24/7 commitment and there is a tremendous amount of work that goes into looking after all of the dogs. I wouldn’t have it any other way, however it is a huge commitment, especially when you are always striving for the best dog welfare.”
