Fortrose and
Rosemarkie
have managed to secure ten national tournaments for the Club
which is fantastic for the area as a whole.”
Atmosphere
“The mood here is very good. If we can
continue to take in a good amount of
income from visiting golfers then the
annual membership fees will remain
static. This year we had received
twelve applications for membership
from Canada and another four from
Hawaii just to quote a few examples.
This club is very well run and we now
have a new head pro (Rob Douglas)
in place who is doing a fantastic job
for the membership as a whole.”
2017
“The year so far has gone very well, the
membership income as a comparison to 2016 is
well up and visitor fee income and numbers has also
increased. The committee do a fantastic job on a
voluntary basis and this makes my job all the
easier.
We are looking at changing a few
things out on the course with bunker
renovations taking place at the end
of the playing season. We are also
introducing more fun competitions
through the off-peak season to keep
the members interest up as they
proved highly successful last year
with an average of 70-80 playing in
the competitions themselves.”
Commercial
“We have a few corporate members in place
and we also have tee sign sponsors on each and
every tee throughout the course. We also have some
fantastic sponsors in place for our open competitions and
this year we introduced a flyover of the course which can be
viewed on the TV screens in the clubhouse area and in our golf
buggies. We will also have a sponsors day at the end of the
season to give something back to them as a thank you as it
is important from my viewpoint to keep everyone happy and
involved in what we do.
I have also teamed up with Neil Hampton at Royal Dornoch
Golf Club and other board members to set up Golf Highland
for the benefit of all clubs in the area as they need to market
themselves more and more in order to survive over
the next few years. Marketing is very important
and we want to increase the profile of other
clubs in the area not just our own.”
