CRICKET CLUB
It’s three years ago that I took over as Chairman of Boston Cricket Club and
I am pleased to say that the Club has come a long way in that time. My
first priority was to ensure that the Club cleared its’ debts and got itself into
a sound financial position to move forward and thanks to sponsorship and
various fundraising activities, not least the successful staging of a prestigious
game against The Lashings All Stars last season, that is now the case and
the Club can look forward to a bright future.
This season we decided to employ
an Overseas Professional to not only
bolster our first team in the ECB Lincs
Premier League but also to enhance
the training and coaching within
the Club right through from the
juniors to the seniors and we
recruited the services of Daniel
Sincuba,
a
batsman/wicket
keeper, from South Africa as our
Professional together with fellow
South African U18 Amateur
Fayadh Haffejee.
Dan has been good news around
the Club in terms of the level of
professionalism he has brought to
our training and preparations for
games but unfortunately he has not
scored the runs that either of us
would have liked and due to
family commitments he has now
returned to South Africa. On the
other hand Fayadh has done
extremely well for us both
with the bat and the ball.
Overall, with a quarter
of the season remaining I
would have to say that I am
disappointed with the way the
season has gone so far, with
the additions we made to our
playing squad for our second
season back in the top flight I was
hoping that we would comfortably
