Rounders England FOLLOW US ONLINE twitter.com/sportinprofile SIP: What are your plans for the rest of 2017? HH: We’ve got several things planned. We are rolling out our new branding ‘WE ARE ALL ROUNDERS’ across our digital channels, communications and via our partners. Our Members’ Club is picking up pace and we are connecting with teams and leagues who haven’t been members in the past, as well as with our workforce. We now offer an attractive membership package and are keen to form a closer alliance with everyone in our Rounders community. We are also working on a toolkit for teams and leagues and this will form part of the first class customer service we aim to provide. Commercially, we are working closely with our partners Aresson, iProSports and GripGrip, and there are new products in the pipeline for 2018. Our competition strategy review is due to be completed in October and we are looking forward to seeing what arises from this piece of work. We envisage many more competitions and festivals in our future plans. SIP: How important is youth development to the organisation? HH: Youth development continues to play an important part in our ambitions and we intend to deliver on programmes for young people within this strategy. We also continue to strive for the return of Rounders to the list of assessed sports for GCSE/A level. We have a large pool of schools that belong to our Members’ Club as Education members. We engage with them regularly and we hear some very positive news about the place of Rounders in their schools. SIP: Have you got any advice for people interested in getting involved in the sport? HH: Just do it. You won’t regret it. Please visit http:// www.roundersengland.co.uk/play/ to find out whether there is organised Rounders in your area and if not, why not start 34 Issue 14
