Houghton-le-Spring Golf CLUB
First established in 1908 , Houghton-le-Spring Golf Club is based at Copt Hill , Tyne and Wear . Gary Shaw is the Men ’ s Club Captain while Chris Bryson is the Ladies Club Captain and the club has been progressing well under their guidance .
The course itself is an 18 hole parkland course that is easy to get to and the club prides itself on providing all of its visitors with a warm welcome whether they are coming to play or on a social visit .
There are five and seven day memberships available at the club and they are able to cater for a variety of different events including weddings , parties and corporate events . They can offer tailor made packages to suit all tastes at reasonable prices . They are able to accommodate up to 120 guests with extensive bar facilities and also provide free parking .
Having these options available at the club helps to make them an important part of the local community and also has the potential to provide them with a valuable source of additional revenue which is particularly important in the current financial climate .
Another highlight of the club is the superb golf shop that they have which prides itself on providing quality and value for money . Their men ’ s range covers trousers , shirts , jumpers , waterproofs , shoes and more and includes stockists Galvin Green , Lyle & Scott , Ping Collection , Adidas , Oakley , Under Armour and Oscar Jacobson .
