Wargrave Cricket Club FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/SPORT_IP Wargrave Cricket CLUB W argrave CC has been working hard since the end of their 2015 campaign to ensure that they are well prepared for their new season. We caught up with their President Mike Hall to find out how these preparations have been coming along. Involvement He told us, “I have been involved with Wargrave CC since 1970 when I played my first match for the Sunday X1 aged 15 years old. That is now 45 years ago. I am still involved and have been the club’s President since 2002. Originally my attraction was that I lived in the village. Wargrave used to be a typical village club but these days we are more than that due to 62 Issue 12 our excellent committee, excellent ground (we host the odd Berkshire CC one day matches) and have a new pavilion.” The Role “The most rewarding aspect of the role is to see the club genuinely progressing on and off the pitch. My role is mainly one of fund raising and helping to ensure that the club is run properly. There is no doubt that Wargrave today is probably in its best condition in its entire history.” Present “The mood is very buoyant, everyone is working hard to make sure we start the new season on cracking form.
