Sport in Profile Magazine was keen to find out more about the good work that they have been doing lately and with this in mind we caught up with their Club Secretary/ Manager Amanda Short. Involvement She told us, “I applied for the position as Manager and started work in April 2015. Soon afterwards I was asked to take over as Club Secretary from our now President. I had worked for another local golf club in the late 90’s but until starting work for Milford Haven Golf Club had never set foot through the door! The most challenging part of my role is finding enough time to complete the huge list of tasks and the most rewarding aspect is having face to face conversations with members of the club.” Atmosphere “The mood here is upbeat at the moment 58 Issue 12 – the weather has been against us recently with non-stop rain for seventy five days, however unlike other local clubs who have closed for weeks at a time we have only had to close for a few days so far in 2016.” 2016 “Our plan is to focus on improving our financial performance by growing our membership base (to that end we have introduced a new monthly academy membership category and offered existing members a discount on their renewal fees for the introduction of each new member to the club), encourage more visitors and increase our green fees (follow-up and respond to feedback, continue to grow our revenue stream through Groupon, advertise in Pembrokeshire and beyond to encourage visitors and tap into the
