themselves on having a strong social side
that provides any visitors with a warm
welcome. They invested significantly to
improve their clubhouse in 1985 to ensure
that they had the best facilities possible.
In 2015 their first team put together a
solid league campaign as they compiled
a record of eight wins, one draw and
nine defeats from their eighteen league
matches. This saw them finish in the top
half of the table with 253 points on the
board. This should provide the team with
a solid platform from which to build as
they look ahead to the 2016 campaign. As
long as they are able to retain their current
group of players they will have a good
chance of pushing on up the league.
Gerrards Cross is a club that is
committed to the development of young
players and it is with this in mind that
they have a number of youth sides set
up. These teams look to provide young
players with an opportunity to play the
game in a safe and enjoyable environment.
In total they have over 100 youngsters
playing the game across the age range
of 7 to 16. The success of the player
development programme at the club is
demonstrated by the number of players
that they have helped to go on and
represent Buckinghamshire in recent
times.
Gerrards Cross are a great example
of well-run, modern, family friendly,
community club and this is thanks to the
hard work that their committee have put
into making them a success. Hopefully
they will be able to keep up the good work
that they have been doing for many years
to come.
