Many of our members are local to the Blackburn area, and we regularly put on events to attract new members from the nearby community. However, we also have other members that travel for up to 1 hour to attend training and games at Blackburn. More importantly, we strive to develop a community feel right through the club, so if you are a member of our organisation you feel like you are part of a wider community. This starts with the players and parents getting together and enjoying the social side of hockey too. We all spend so much time at the Ice rink we very much develop a family atmosphere. It is easy to make friends and it’s more than just a past time. It’s not just the dedication of the kids, but the parents too. They are a massive part of our club who all come together to generate this family spirit. This is a really important part of the club we are trying to develop, as without this community feel our members would not get the value they deserve.” Ambitions “Our ambitions are to grow and to win. We want to bring a period of success to hockey in Blackburn, and that starts with success at the junior age groups. We are working hard to develop the infrastructure in order to achieve this within our given budgets. This infrastructure has already started to pay dividends in terms of our sporting development, and we anticipate this will continue over the next five years. We want all our age groups to be competing at the top of each A-division and generating excellent hockey players for our senior teams.” www.blackburnjuniorhawks.com www.sportip.biz 35
