“As a hockey club we are based out of a superb
clubhouse at Marton Cricket Club and we play our
matches at Teesside University. We often receive
high praise for our hospitality at the club house,
and we are therefore passionate about securing
our own astroturf on site to make the club a whole
community venue. We are very fortunate that
the club regularly invests money to improve the
facilities.”
Challenges/Ambitions
“Our main concerns at the moment are for the
region as we are losing more and more hockey
pitches and the knock on effect to us is that pitch
availability is limited. We are struggling to source
significant funding to support our vision of
building our own hockey pitch to try to overcome
the potential pitch availability problem.
We will continue to work towards obtaining funds
for our own pitch on site, increasing membership
and our community work and winning EHB club
of the year. We aim to deliver satellite club sessions
to primary schools and secondary schools in the
Middlesbrough area and promote a positive image
of the club and the sport.”
