approaching. Ahead of next season
we’re looking to grow the squad
and make sure that we have the
infrastructure in place to help
transition our swimmers into the
top group. We’re splitting our set
up into three groups with national
swimmers, a regional squad and
then a county squad.
“We’ve brought in a strength and
conditioning programme this year

as well to help the swimmers. That
helps particularly in regard to being
explosive off the blocks and the
impact that this introduction has had
is already paying dividends.
“It’s an exciting time at the moment
with a lot of development going on
at the club. There’s a lot of interest
in what we’re doing because of the
success that we’ve achieved which is
a benefit to the whole club.
“The biggest challenges for us
moving forward will be securing
pool time; we’re limited on how
much the local authority will give us
